Employer Member Benefits

Education
The Pittsburgh Business Group on Health (PBGH) promotes education and raises awareness of health care issues specifically for members by:
  • Hosting members-only workshops that provide learning laboratories for evaluating and developing benefit strategies.
  • Collaborating with the region’s health plans, employee benefits experts and health care consultants to deliver valuable data that enables members to compare their organization’s experience against regional and national benchmarks.

PBGH members receive free registration for educational meetings throughout the year, and reduced-cost registration for our annual symposium, where regional and national thought leaders present leading-edge ideas and concepts.

Networking
With an emphasis on the exchange of best practices and employer experiences, PBGH provides valuable networking opportunities to its members.

  • The Quick Query is a survey tool for members to quickly poll their peers on benefit or policy topics that have become hot-button issues. Having the ability to take a quick pulse provides members with immediate information for developing and benchmarking their own strategies.
  • Member Forums provide confidential settings and networking opportunities for the exchange of best practices with peers.

Group Purchasing
PBGH member organizations have the opportunity to unite with other companies to drive a better deal in purchasing health care benefits. By leveraging the power of its collective employers, PBGH provides greater value for its members and their employees, retirees and dependents by obtaining pricing and services not normally obtainable by individual employers.

PBGH currently offers the following group purchasing programs:

Ready-to-Execute Programs
Supporting members’ efforts in managing and administering health care benefits, PBGH conducts research, develops and defines processes, and launches health care-related programs that are flexible, actionable and ready for member company implementation within their individualized plans.

One such program is the
LivingMyLife Program for Diabetes.
