Navigating the Cadillac Tax and ACA Reporting

David Sanders, Legal Counsel, Vice President, Aon Hewitt, will address a number of topics of importance to employers sponsoring health and welfare benefits plans.

Among the topics facing employers, two areas of the Affordable Care Act stand out: the reporting requirements under IRC Sections 6055 and 6056 and the excise tax on “Cadillac” plans.   David will provide an update on the recent guidance issued in both of these areas, which provides further insight into the impact that these requirements may have on the administrative and financial burden associate with offering health benefits to employees.

Additionally, for those employers grappling with plan design choices in view of the Affordable Care Act, David will delve into the legal implications of utilizing a private health exchange strategy as a vehicle for offering health benefits.  And for those employers considering varying their health benefits offering among classes of employees, David will address how this strategy can be accomplished within the framework of existing tax code nondiscrimination rules.

Medicaid Migration

Medicaid Migration™ is an increasingly popular option that employers are using to address the costs and challenges of the Affordable Care Act. Eligible workers who have the option to enroll in Medicaid’s high quality, affordable health insurance plan decline company health plans. Helping employees sign up for Medicaid is a win-win for employees and employers.

Andrew Greenblatt is the co-founder of BeneStream, the only national Medicaid Migration™ service.  Come to the Legislative Updates forum to learn more about
