2006 Symposium Recap

More than 300 people attended
Transparency: Turning the Lights on Health Care in September 2006. Attendees heard about tools and strategies that are bringing health care out of the dark and into the light.

  • Subimo President Ann Mond Johnson provided an overview of how health plans disclose provider payments and clinical quality indicators to educate and inform their members.
  • Jackie Willmot presented Humana’s innovative member rewards program to promote wellness and healthy behavior over time, a “frequent flier” approach to employee incentive programs.
  • Robert S. Mecklenburg, MD and chief of medicine at Virginia Mason Medical Center, discussed the medical center’s nationally recognized strategy of collaborating with employers and Aetna to create a value-based, tiered network option.
